What the package includes

RISE with SAP is not a product. It is a bundle. It includes: S/4HANA Cloud (Public or Private Edition), SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), migration tools (SAP Readiness Check, Custom Code Analyzer), and SAP Business Network Starter Pack.

On top of that: a dedicated SAP contact — the "Customer Success Partner" — and access to SAP Signavio for process analysis. For companies that do not want to orchestrate their S/4HANA migration themselves, RISE is the turnkey route.

Private vs. Public Cloud: the choice that remains

Public Edition: SAP runs everything, quarterly updates are mandatory, customizing is limited. Fits companies staying close to standard. Private Edition: you retain control over upgrades and can use SAP-specific extensions. Most mid-market companies with SAP ECC history choose Private.

Where does AI fit? SAP embeds its AI Foundation into RISE — built-in AI for accounts payable, payment proposals, and cash forecasts. But the truly compelling applications emerge on BTP, where companies can build custom AI agents that use SAP data in real time.
