3. Legal Basis for Data Processing

Where we obtain consent for the processing of personal data, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

For the processing of personal data required for the performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations necessary for pre-contractual measures.

Where processing is necessary for the purposes of a legitimate interest pursued by our company or a third party, and where such interests are not overridden by the interests, fundamental rights or freedoms of the data subject, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

4. SSL/TLS Encryption

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the address bar of the browser changing from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock icon in your browser bar. When SSL/TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

5. Data Collection

This website is hosted on servers in Germany (Hetzner Online GmbH). No external fonts or CDNs are used. All resources are served locally from our server.

6. Cookies

This website uses one technically necessary cookie (cc_cookie) to store your cookie preferences. This cookie is stored exclusively on your device and does not contain any personal data. No additional cookies are set unless you consent to further categories (e.g. analytics) in the cookie settings.

If you consent to the "Analytics" category, additional cookies and local storage entries are set by PostHog to recognise your session (see section 7). You can change your cookie settings at any time via the link in the website footer.

Legal basis for technically necessary cookies: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). For analytics cookies: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

7. Web Analytics — PostHog

We use PostHog (PostHog, Inc., USA) to analyse the use of our website. Data processing takes place on servers within the European Union (Frankfurt am Main) via our own reverse proxy (e.quantical.com). Your IP address is not stored in full.

Anonymous Pageviews (without consent)

When you visit our website, we automatically collect anonymised pageview data. The following data is recorded: page visited, referrer URL, device type, browser type and approximate location (country/region). No cookies are set. To recognise you within the same browser session, a random identifier is stored in your browser's session storage, which is automatically deleted when the tab is closed. It is not possible to identify individual users from this data.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the statistical analysis of website usage).

Extended Analytics (consent required)

If you consent to the "Analytics" category in the cookie settings, the following additional features are activated: Session Replay (anonymised recording of your session), automatic capture of clicks and interactions (autocapture), and storage of session data in cookies and local storage.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You may withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings in the footer. Upon withdrawal, session recording is stopped, tracking is deactivated and all locally stored analytics data is deleted.

Retention Period

Anonymous pageview data is retained for 12 months. Session recordings are automatically deleted after 30 days.

For more information, see the PostHog Privacy Policy.

8. Contact Form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the form, including the contact data you provide, will be stored for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent.

The contact form is processed via Formspree, Inc. (USA). Formspree acts as a data processor and processes your data solely to forward the inquiry to us. For more information, see the Formspree Privacy Policy.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures). Your data will be deleted after your inquiry has been fully processed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

9. Newsletter

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by contacting us at info@quantical.com. For more information, see the Formspree Privacy Policy.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

10. Server Log Files

The provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. This includes: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, hostname of the accessing device, time of the server request and IP address.

This data cannot be attributed to specific individuals. This data is not merged with other data sources.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the technically error-free delivery of the website). Server log files are automatically deleted after 14 days.

11. Your Rights

You have the right to receive information about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data free of charge at any time (Art. 15 GDPR). You also have the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR).

If you have given consent to data processing, you may revoke that consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). The lawfulness of the processing carried out prior to the revocation remains unaffected.
